Here is a write-up from both Ellie and Kristen about their experiences of being at the Parliament of World’s Religions! Cam has also been interviewed on Wisconsin Public Radio!

Parliament of world’s Religions Stories from Ellie and Cam:

Before the Parliament started we had a lot to do in preparation, so one day we were over in St. Kilda which is a suburb of Melbourne, about a half-hour away. I saw two people sitting at an outside café, and they were obviously ‘going to light’ – experiencing communication together. I stopped immediately and joined in. Later, after introductions were made and I explained that we were here from Wisconsin for the Parliament, the man (Dhanna,) said, “Oh! You must be with ‘The Old Guy’” And I said, “Do you mean ‘The Old MAN?’” “YES! The Old Man!” So it turned out that he had the Old Man’s writings and Loved Them and still uses them- He knew nothing of the Parliament and left for India on Friday, and has already kept in contact with us!

We arrived to the opening ceremonies- every religion (and every different color robe) was there- about 8,000 people total. The larger events were a beautiful display of music and dance representing every walk of life.

Lala, Helen, Ishwari, Alice, Kathrine, and David had booth passes, meaning they could work in our booth but not attend the classes. Lala hasn’t changed one bit since the last time we saw her in Wisconsin eight years ago! The first thing we noticed while at the booth was the amount of people that have done the workbook of the Course, or owned a copy but haven’t been able to get into it yet, etc etc. It was so amazing how many people – even from other booths- would come to our booth to hang out and talk about the Course.

One of the first talks was a Hindu Guru, Sri Sri Sri Devi Ma- she was nice, but I was particularly attracted to her assistant, running around in service making sure everything was just right. I ended up running directly into her about three times before we spoke. When we did, I found out that she had gone to the same grade school as me, outside of Chicago in a suburb called Steeple Run. We then attended the same college in Chicago; both studied Theater, and lived 10 blocks from each other. Her guru did a talk in Chicago, and she followed her to India the same year I moved to Wisconsin with ACIMI. Our parallel lives came together here in Australia- and out of 8,000 people! The Holy Spirit really set that one up! We were happy to find out that while we were presenting the documentary at the Parliament, our friends from Wisconsin and around the world were also meeting at the same time and showing the film! None of us slept the night before the screening. For the presentation, Kristen did a great job expressing the Course in Miracles and how it fits in perfectly with the Parliament, and also introduced Cameron. Cam talked about the process of putting the film together, and spoke about the four parts of the film. There were about 80 seats available, and a standing room only crowd of about 20 more people. They were all glued to the film, and many people were crying, being touched by the forgiveness segment, (segment two.) At the end, I read the final segment of Chapter 31, Jesus being ever-present with us as everyone came together in prayer. Down at the booth, our Course books and DVD’s of the film were flying off the shelves, and we also had to give many people the website of how to order more materials. Some really amazing Teachers of God came to speak with us after the filming. One author gave me his book on the Present Moment, and ended up hanging out with us the rest of the week. Cameron met a woman named Joan who was at Berkley when Bill Thetford came to give a talk on the Course in the beginning days. She was a beautiful woman, working in inter-faith for 40 years, was a Catholic nun, and on and on, and had heard of the Academy.

Another woman, Mary Anne, had died when she was only eight- for 53 minutes she had a conversation with Arch-Angel Michael, and made a decision to return to her family, completely changed. Her family never really understood her after that, anyway, she was at the Parliament and saw Dear One’s face interposed over an Indian man. (She didn’t know it was Dear One at the time.) She reached out and said, “Darling! It’s You!” And then he turned back into a very surprised Indian man again. It wasn’t until she watched a video that she realized it was Dear One that she had seen!! She ended up staying with us the whole time, even coming to our sessions at David Pini’s apartment.

Cameron had a cool moment with the head of the Brahma Kumaris, a woman guru named Dadi. We had seen Dadi at the last Parliament in Barcelona, and could feel her energy, very strong shakti, we were amazed five years ago by her. She is 94 now, and still teaching strong. Cam went to her talk, and at the end everyone lined up to receive a candy and blessing from her. When he got to her, she grabbed him by the arm, and kept saying, “You’re hearing me, you’re hearing me- who Are you? Please talk with my assistant!” She wouldn’t let go of his arm! When Cam got to the assistant, he was in so much light neither of them even knew what to say, so the assistant told him that she was doing something in her ashram next October if he wanted to come! At the final ceremony she said, “It is time for us to go Home- you’ve done your work here, you’ve done your service, and now it is time to return HOME!” What a great message, we love DADI!!! Cam and Kristen also had a great connection with Mother Maya, who wanted to talk about our film crew going out with her to do another documentary.

A Hindu Swami who Ishwari was with many years ago was very interested in our film and asked us to give a copy to his secretary. Well, the secretary turns out to be the owner of the Hare Krishna restaurant that we frequent. He and his wife stayed up all night watching the film before giving it to Swami. We are meeting all of them at their other restaurant on Saturday for dinner.

The night the Parliament ended we all went to the Closing ceremonies, with a lot of ‘pomp and circumstance’, and a great talk by His Holiness The Dalai Lama. His energy was great, he was very innocent, humorous, and inspirational. I took a long walk that night, around our hotel, and ran into a Muslim man from Chicago who hosts inter-faith events in Chicago and wants to invite us to speak at the next one.

The most inspirational to me was the desire by the speakers and participants to lay aside our concepts and our differences, and to truly love one another beyond any religious beliefs. The light was tangible, and all of the Heavenly Hosts were with us in our full dedication.

These are just a few of the miraculous meetings we had- there is no way possible to type them all. But we did see every brother’s face interposed on every walk of life- We Saw YOU there!!! Amazing!! (apologies for any mis-spellings! And I LOVE YOU!!!) THANK YOU!!!!

AND HERE IS AN UpDATE FROM KRISTEN!

How to put into words what is so totally beyond? In short, I was completely and ecstatically surprised at what happened at this year’s Parliament..it totally blew my mind! Instead of writing one big note, I will post a few shorter ones for you, and you can also see the little updates and photos I posted on my profile page here while we were there.

First of all, we started out just the 4 of us (me, El, Cam and Ellie) and Emily Rose, with only our willingness and trust that “if you build it, they will come”. Sure enough, everyday, more brothers would contact us that they wanted to come and help us…a few we knew well (Helen, Ishwari, Lala, Kathryn, Alice and Yasmaheena (Leeann)…and of course David Pini and Nick, who were our TOTAL angels)…and then there were several “new” old friends who met us on Facebook and totally felt the call to join in! Honestly, the reception we got there was unprecedented. 4 years ago at the Parliament in Barcelona, hardly anyone had heard of the Course in Miracles, but I tell you the quantum speed-up HAS OCCURRED! This year almost everyone HAD not only heard of the Course but were actively doing the lessons…or had just gotten the book and were committed to begin the lessons. Not only that, but there was a continuous Self-recognition in the Light of our shared purpose occurring that was truly amazing…and indeed, the synchronicities were off the charts! Every imaginable tradition and walk of life was represented there, and everyone recognized the Course, or if not, they got a copy from us to bring home! One beautiful woman from Israel (Jewish and Sufi background) who performed there named Miriam…took us completely HOME with her music and demonstrations of pure LIGHT…she sleeps with the Course right by her bed because she loves it so much! Some very familiar guys from Iran, who were completely open to receive the Universal experience of the Course, were so excited to hear about it that they took a copy home to register in their public library…and of course took a copy of Unleashed and some other materials for themselves…including our 20 minute book in Farsi!

Our booth was totally set up from out of time, and it was a gorgeous welcoming space for joining in a Light experience…with Dear One and Jesus ever-present, and the trailer for Unleashed playing continuously on the laptop for those interested. It was a real hub for communication, healing, pure JOY and release…and we never had a dull moment there as you can see from the pictures! We had visitations from everyone you can imagine, from the far reaches of the Universe representing every memory package…most of whom came back again and again…and some that did not ever want to leave! In a typical day, we saw the Hari Krishnas (which is another amazing story I will tell in a second), the Brama Kumaris, every type of Buddhist monk that ever was, including the Dalai Lama’s guys, the Christian Scientists, the Theosophical Society guys, the Urantia guys, the Muslims, the Catholics, the Unity Church guys, the Pagans, the aboriginal Australians, the Zoroastrians and many varieties of Hindu’s and Seikhs…just to name a few. We knew it would be a great time when the booth right across from us (the World Teacher/Mitrayu) was putting up a huge sign up saying “Christ is Ready to Emerge!”…and of course, they ended up hanging out with us the whole time, and one of them who does the Course, MaryJane, stuck with us the days after as well (you will see her in the pics). Needless to say…we EMERGED!!! One last thing I will mention for this edition of my report. When we were in San Jose, CA, a few years ago at the World Wellness Week with Dear One, T Harv Ecker and Deepak Chopra, we all fell in love with a local Vegetarian/Vegan Restaurant there that had the BEST food EVER! Well, these guys happen to be with an Asian woman Spiritual Master who has a worldwide network of Veggie restaurants, Ashrams and a large TV station that is translated into like 20 or 30 languages worldwide. Anyway, the local Melbourne branch of them had a booth there and totally LOVED us…and interviewed me and Ellie for their TV station. The cool thing is we could totally be ourselves and share our direct LIGHT experience, as well as talk about our movie and our vegetarian restaurant in WI!!! They kept feeding us the BEST Vegan goodies every time we walked by. The interview went great too…will send a link as soon as they give it to us! Ok…more download coming SOOOOON.
